Little Para Dam Safety Upgrade


The project involved undertaking works to increase the safety of the Little Para Dam for SA Water. Works include the excavation of 310,000 cubic metres of rock to facilitate the construction of a new fusegate spillway system, along with major concrete works in order to strengthen and raise the existing crest wall.

Key features include:
Temporary lowering of the earth fill on the existing crest  wall
Major concrete works including strengthening of the existing wall
Extension of the wall height by 1m
Construction of Sill Structure & Stub Walls
Topsoil removal & encapsulation
Excavation of 310,000 cubic metres of rock
Construction of fire access tracks and internal roads
